Our deepest sympathy. Ken was one of my best friends in high school and a great long distance friend thereafter. A great role model. Not able to visit the last couple of years but always in the heart.

To the Skinner Family,
We are sad to hear of Ken's passing. He was an awesome man with many stories to share. I remember the current ones he was telling my son before he entered the Marines this past year. Ross has spent some time down there this year listening to his stories of growing up. They were wonderful to hear.
Ken.. you will be greatly missed. Semper Fi my friend. Watch over everyone.

Much love and hugs Skinner Family.

Ken was my first boss. He always made work feel like home. I spent 10 years with him on and off while I was figuring out my path. He was always so friendly and kind to those in need. I can recall several customers who counted on him for financial help, knowledge and physical assistance at times. He always dropped his own responsibilities to help those in need. His hard work and dedication in our small town will never be forgotten.

My deepest sympathy to Ken's family.

To the Kenneth Skinner family,

Ken was a great man who was always there for anyone. I've worked at his store for a little over a year and loved hearing him talk about his past. My condolences to his loved ones.

As a Rushford Lake cabin owner, I got to know Ken . He was always friendly and ready to converse. Two things really stood out about Ken. First was his great generosity to the Rushford Lake people. He was always contributing to Lake projects and without fail put in full page ads in the Rushford Lake Directory every year.He had a good business mind and proof is how his only rival just down the road on 243 kept building and building. Ken went about his business quietly and we all know who was still standing when Ken passed away.

I liked Ken and I know he will be missed by the entire Rushford Lake community. I am very sorry for his loss.

Ken was a treasure and a treat. No matter what was going on 'behind the scenes' He never failed to greet everyone with a smile and a story. He made you feel as if you were a close friend.

He told me once about a customer that came through several years ago. He cashed him out and a little 10 y/o boy stood staring at the door. He asked Ken "Do you know who that was?" Ken said "No. I don't know him" the boy said "That was Willie Nelson!" Ken said "Nooo..." and ran to the door just in time to see that white Cadillac pulling away with the 'WILLIE" License plate. It was a small purchase.

From a little country store tucked in a wide spot in the road this man has left a legacy. And he will not be forgotten.

His life, attitudes, and ethics should be a lesson to us all. What we say, what we do, how we handle the hard times.. affects so many more people than we could ever imagine.
