Rushford --- A. Irene Worthington of Honeoye Falls and a former resident of Rushford died Wednesday, April 27, 2016 in Highland Hospital, Rochester. She was born on July 23, 1916 in Farmersville, a daughter of the late Eugene and Ada Austin Drew. She married Maurice H. Worthington who predeceased her.
She was a member of the Rushford United Methodist Church, Rushford United Methodist Women and the Rushford Cynthian Club.
Irene and Maurice owned and operated the Rushford Sunoco for many years. She also worked with the Post Office in Rushford, the Belfast Hotel and the Rochester Munitions factory during World War II.
Irene was an avid antique collector and enjoyed tole painting.
Surviving are her daughters, Marcia (Harry) Glossner of Rushford, Barbara (Keith) Manning of Honeoye Falls, five granddaughters, Gail, Amy, Megan, Kara, Kirstyn, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may gather from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home, 21 North Genesee Street, Fillmore. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 1, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Rushford United Methodist Church. Pastors Larry Russell and Bob Schooley will co-officiate. Burial will be in White Cemetery, Rushford.
