Gary C Fiegl

Fillmore---Gary C. Fiegl of 103 West Main Street, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 in Hart Comfort Home in Wellsville. He was born on February 23, 1940 in the Town of Centerville, a son of the late Robert and Clydice Higgins Fiegl Sr. On August 13, 2005 in Island Pond, Vermont he married Linda Newman who survives.

Gary was a member of the Hume Baptist Church. Gary operated many forms of heavy equipment in the course of his career. He retired from Houghton College in 2001. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving from 1963 to 1965.

He loved to read and spend time with his family.                    

Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, Eric (Lynelle) Fiegl of Springwater, NY, Wade (Heather) Fiegl of Rapidan, VA, Ivy (Tedd) Rothfus of Lake Pleasant, NY, Holly (Jade) Fertich of Dillsburg, PA, Julia (Chris) Mills of Centerville, Peter (Jessica) Romance of Fillmore, 25 grandchildren, his brothers and sisters, Zane (Laura) Fiegl of Canisteo, Robert (Jane) Fiegl Jr. of Chesterfield, Va., Roberta (Dean) Barnett of Freedom, Claudia (Daniel) Kauffman of Fillmore, Dawn (Kenneth) Bateman of Nashua, NH and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may gather from 3:00 to 5:00 pm on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at the Houghton Wesleyan Church where a funeral service will follow at 5:00 p.m. Joel Stroud, pastor of the Hume Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Houghton.
