Centerville---Genevieve Kolakowska of 9595 Findlay Road, died peacefully at the age of 94 on Thursday, August 27, 2015 in The Pines Nursing Home in Machias after a full and family centered life. She was born on May 27, 1921 in Williamsville, a daughter of the late Edmund and Mary Lipska Kolakowski. Gene served in the WAC during WW 11 and also was a member of St. Mark’s Church in Rushford. She leaves behind family members too numerous to name who will miss her loving ability to bring the family together around a table of authentic Polish cuisine.
Surviving are two brothers, Fred Kolakowski and Richard kolakowski both of Centerville and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters, Franny Otto, Lucille Malone and a brother, Roman kolakowski.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate her life on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 2:00 pm at St. Patrick’s Church Hall, Fillmore. A Mass of remembrance will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Fillmore.
