Caneadea---Gerald B. ‟Jerry” Fish , a former resident of Caneadea, died Wednesday, October 15, 2014 in Jones Memorial Hospital, Wellsville. He was born on September 23, 1925 in Rochester, a son of the late Leslie and Genevieve Denk Fish. On June 16, 1946 he married Norma Arnold who survives.
He was a US Army Air Forces Veteran of WWII serving from November 17, 1943 to November 2, 1945 and formerly owned and operated an auto body repair shop in Fillmore for many years. He later taught at Cattaraugus-Allegany Boces in Belmont.
Jerry loved golfing and flying remote control planes.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his sons, Ron (Dina) Fish of Hilton, Larry (Sim) Fish of Cuba, Steve Fish of Belmont, four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, a brother, Mike (Nancy) Fish of Fillmore and nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may gather from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Sunday, October 19, 2104 at the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home, 21 N. Genesee Street, Fillmore, followed by burial in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Houghton.
