Fillmore --- Gertrude I. Burr of 59 Emerald Street died Saturday, October 22, 2016 in the Wyoming County Skilled Nursing Facility, Warsaw. She was born on November 18, 1923 in Angola, a daughter of the late Winfield and Ester Bugenhagen Rendell. She married Gordon H. Jeffords Sr. who predeceased her on December 31, 1967.
Gertrude attended the Caneadea United Methodist Church and was a former employee of Houghton College. She enjoyed gardening, puzzles, cooking and most of all spending time with her family.
Surviving are her children, Karen (David) Woodward of Spencerport, Warren (Michelle) Jeffords of Suffolk, Virginia, James (Debra) Jeffords of Fillmore, Barbara (Randy) Nevinger of Fillmore, Kathy Young of Fillmore, Michele Jeffords of Pavilion, Michael (Jayne) Jeffords of Byron, Rose (Gerald) Yacono of Pavilion, 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, a daughter in law, Betina Jeffords of Adrian, Michigan, her husband, Grover Burr and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her first husband and parents she was predeceased by a son, Gordon H. Jeffords Jr., a grandson, Shawn Jeffords, a son in law, David Young, three brothers and two sisters.
Family and friends may gather from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Friday, October 28, 2016 at the Caneadea United Methodist Church where a funeral service will follow at 12:00 noon. Pastor Larry Russel will officiate, Burial will be in Oramel Cemetery, Oramel.
Memorials if desired to: Caneadea United Methodist Church or a charity of the donor’s choice.
