Harlan C. “Demp” Evans
Harlan C. ‘‘Demp’’Evans of Port Charlotte, Florida and a former resident of Fillmore, N.Y., died Friday, August 14, 2015 at St. Petersburg Northside Hospital, Florida surrounded by his family. He was born on March 16, 1936 in Centerville, a son of the late Harlan and Loretta Owens Evens Sr. He married Barbara Crosby who survives.
Harlan was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a life member of Local 17 Operating Engineers of Buffalo New York from 1955-1998 upon his retirement. Harlan enjoyed hunting, fishing and family times. In his later years golf became his passion of sport.
Surviving in addition to his wife are four children, Jeff (Karen) Evans of Chesnee, South Carolina, Debbie (Paul) Hogan of Ashboro N.C., Scott (Tina) Evans of Port Charlotte Florida, Greg Evans of the Free Spirit Traveling America, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, a sister, Connie (Warren) Emerson of Syracuse and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a sister Linda Evans Snyder.
A memorial service will be held on October 17, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. At the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home, 21 N. Genesee Street, Fillmore. Burial will be in Freedom Cemetery, Freedom.
