Jack Edward Allen
Wiscoy --- Jack Edward Allen of 11558 County Road 27 died Monday, July 7, 2014 in his home. He was born on December 19, 1926 in Buffalo, a son of the late Charles and Emma Schlicht Allen. On May 26, 1951 in the Wesleyan parsonage in Higgins he married Sally Sink who survives.
Jack was a Veteran of the United States Navy and served from 1944 to 1947 including the North Atlantic during World War II. He worked for Rochester Gas and Electric for 37 years and was a former member of the Wiscoy-Rossburg Fire Department and a member of the American Legion Post 1155 of Fillmore.
Jack was an outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing, camping, wood working, caning, basket weaving, taking care of his lawn and avid Buffalo Bills fan.
Surviving in addition to his wife are their children, Joseph (Beth) Allen of Dansville, Nancy (Arthur) Spencer of Springville, Jeffery (Lillian) Allen of Wiscoy, Constance Allen (Vicky Jones) of Bliss, Marilyn Lates (Jamie Harding) of Wiscoy, 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, a sister, Emma Sahl of Buffalo and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may gather from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 11, 2014 at the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home, 21 N. Genesee Street, Fillmore, followed by full military honors accorded by members of American Legion Post 1155 of Fillmore in Wiscoy Cemetery.
