Caneadea---Jacqueline Morton of 8968 Rt. 19, died Friday November 11, 2016 in Jones memorial Hosp. She was born on April 15, 1939 in Wellsville, a daughter of the late David Paul and Marjorie Stuck Rock. On August 10, 1957 she married Howard Eugene Morton who survives.
She was a teacher at Immaculate Conception School in Wellsville for thirty years. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church in Belfast, a trustee of the church and served on the parish council, also the 300 Club.
She loved knitting, sewing, reading and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to her husband are her children, Veronica (Mark) Pasternak of Franklinville, Melissa (Greg) Cole of Caneadea, Brian (Jodie) Morton of Belfast, Pam (Harold) Weaver of Belfast, Stephanie (Jeff) Burgess of Belfast, nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, a sister, Nancy Steckl of California and a sister in law, Ella Rock of Florida.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Philip Rock.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at St. Patrick’s Hall in Belfast. Fr. Dennis J.J. Mancuso will be celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Belfast.
