Fillmore---Janice M. “Jan” Hatch of 23 N. Genesee Street, died Sunday, July 5, 2015 in Buffalo General Hospital. She was born on February 17, 1937 in the Town of Hume, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Leah Wolfer Thomas. She married Harry Hatch who predeceased her on February 9, 2013.
Jan had been a monitor at Fillmore Central School for several years. She was also a pole clerk for the school budget vote.
She attended the Higgins Wesleyan Church. She loved to bake, spend time with friends and attend sporting events in Fillmore.
Surviving are her children, Paul (Margaret) Hatch of Fillmore, Kathy (Joe) Paciorkowski of Cuba, Cindy (Doug) Yeager of Olean, Mike (Patty) Hatch of Sardinia, nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, a brother, William (Jane) Thomas of Lansing, Michigan, two sisters, Jean Wilson of Houghton, Pat Ricketts of Hume and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a granddaughter, Lindsay Hatch, two brothers, Robert L. Thomas, John L. “Dude” Thomas, two sisters, Velda Jane Thomas and Sally Wilday.
Family and friends may gather from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home, 21 North Genesee Street, Fillmore. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Higgins Wesleyan Church. The Rev. Bruce Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Fillmore.
