Rushford---June Walden of 8995 Main Street and a former resident of Hume, died Monday, April 25, 2016 at The Cloister’s in Warsaw. She was born on August 20, 1938 in Baltimore, Maryland, a daughter of the late Manfred and Irene Weaver Griggs. She married John L. Wing who predeceased her on June 17, 1994. She later married James D. Walden who predeceased her on July 12, 2006.
She was a member the American Legion since 1986 and a member of the former Hume United Methodist Church.
June enjoyed gardening, reading, crafts, bird watching and playing cards.
Surviving are a son, Thomas (Rose) Wing of Ashford, a daughter, Tammy (Ronald) Lathan of Perry, two grandchildren, a great-grandchild, her step-children, Rick (Sandy) Walden of Rushford, Deborah (Donald) Carnahan of Arcade, Michael (Ann) Walden of Freedom, Teresa (Ed) Outman of Rushford, several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a brother, David Griggs of Holley and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may gather from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home 21 N. Genesee Street, Fillmore where a funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Max Bixby, Pastor of the Farmersville Center Community Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Freedom Cemetery.
