Centerville --- Raymond E. Sears Sr. of 10178 Mink Hollow Road, died Thursday, November 3, 2016 in his home. He was born on February 10, 1927 in Ansonia, Connecticut, a son of the late John and Anna Strubee Sears Sr. On July 23, 1949 in Connecticut, he married Shirley Stapleberg who predeceased him on May 10, 2011.
He was a United States Army Veteran serving during World War II.
Surviving are his children, Raymond (Ann) Sears Jr. of Houghton, Catherine Gorman of Fillmore, Randie (Lynda) Sears of Rushford, Ronald Sears of Centerville, Ross (Donna) Sears of Bliss, Cheryl (Troy) Wright of Black Creek, twenty one grandchildren, twenty four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents he was predeceased by a son-in-law, David J. Gorman, Jr.
Family and friends may gather from 7:00 to 9:00 pm on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home, 21 N. Genesee Street, Fillmore. A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 7, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in White Cemetery, Rushford. Rev. Jon Ward, pastor of the Cuba Wesleyan Church will officiate. Military Honors will be accorded by members of the American Legion Post No. 1155 of Fillmore.
