Roger B. Olsen

Houghton--- Roger B. Olsen of 9823 School Farm Road went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 25, 2015 in his home.  He was born on January 22, 1922 in Trappe, Maryland, a son of the late Henry and Mary Brown Olsen. In September of 1946 he married his beloved wife and life-partner, in all circumstances and adventures, Virginia Elizabeth Boel who predeceased him in 2009.

He was a member of the Houghton Wesleyan Church. Roger loved to read, sing, watch golf and tennis and talk with people.

Surviving are his children, Jo-Anne Young of Houghton, Christina (John) O’Neill of San Mateo, CA, Constance (John) Kennedy of Carleton Place, Ontario, Canada, David (Donna Lee) Olsen of Kennesaw, GA, nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many friends.

In addition to his parents and wife he was predeceased by four brothers, Paul Olsen, Lt. Col. C.A. Olsen, Francis Olsen, Alvin Olsen and a sister, Mary Conklin.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at the Houghton Wesleyan Church Community Room at 2:00 P.M. Burial will be in Memory Gardens, Albany, NY.
