Fillmore --- Stanley T. Johns of 9876 Luckey Drive and a former resident of Fillmore died peacefully on September 26, 2015 in the Absolut of Houghton Nursing Home. He was born on July 28, 1927 in Elton, a son of the late Wesley and Sadie Ester Fisher Johns. On September 12, 1980 in Hanover, PA he married Patricia Becker who survives.
Stanley served in the Navy during WWII on the USS Midway. He was a farmer for over 50 years and was a 4-H leader of the Wing Street Dairy Aides and maids for over 10 years. He loved farming, showing cattle at the fair, gardening and riding thru the countryside.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 35 years are his children, Bruce (Nancy) Johns, Warren (Gloria) Johns, Joyce Johns, Cathy (Larry) Sacco, Russ (Lucy) Johns, Sue (Ron) Kissinger, two step-children, James Mead, Pawnee McCrea, six grandchildren, Janelle (Jon) Weston, Ken (Becky) Baker, Greg (Jessica) Baker, Lisa Johns, Jeremy Johns, Virginia Kissinger, two step-grandchildren, Ryan McCaslin, Breasia McCrea, many greatgrandchildren, a brother, Don (Pat) Johns, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a brother, John J. Johns.
Family and friends may gather from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home, 21 N. Genesee Street, Fillmore where a memorial service will follow. Sam Wolcott will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Fillmore.
