Thaddeus A. Makowski
Fillmore---Thaddeus ″Ted″ Makowski of 7509 Higgins Creek Road, died Wednesday, January 22, 2014 in the Absolut at Houghton nursing home. He was born on September 12, 1921 in Buffalo, a son of the late Adam and Rose Sitarz Makowski. On October 24, 1942 in Arcade he married Wanda Adamowich who survives.
Ted farmed for many years while also selling Real Estate in the area for 30 years. He was a founding member of the Centerville Memorial Fire Department. Ted served on the Fillmore Central School Board of Education for many years and was a trustee for St. Patrick’s Church in Fillmore. He served the town of Centerville as the Justice of the Peace and Highway Superintendent.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are son, James (Linda) Makowski of Fillmore, Barbara (LaRue) Austin of Houghton, Carol Bliss of Houghton, David (Kris) Makowski of Hot Sulfur Springs, CO, Michael (Nancy) Makowski of Fillmore, 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a three brothers, four sisters and a son-in-law, Brian Bliss
Family and friends may gather from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, January 24, 2014 at the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home, 21 N. Genesee Street, Fillmore. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church. Fr. Dennis J.J. Mancuso will be celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Fillmore.
