Fillmore---Warren Douglas Young of 126 West Main Street, died Monday, September 11, 2017 in the Absolut at Houghton nursing home. He was born on October 7, 1924 in Virginia, a son of the late Ruggles Brooks and Marion Brink Young. He married Elizabeth Kingsley who predeceased him on May 10, 2011.
He was a member of the Friends in Christ United Methodist Church in Fillmore. He was a former truck driver for Interstate Trucking Co. and later retired from Consolidated Freight both of Buffalo.
He enjoyed working on all types of cars and was an avid Buffalo Bills Fan.
Surviving are his children, Thomas (Vivian) Young of Dansville, Nancy (David) Carpenter of Fillmore, ten grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren including a special great-grandson, Dylan, a sister, Anna Mae Wilson of Wellsville and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents he was predeceased by two sons, Charles E. Young on September 2, 2000, David D. Young on March 30, 2010 and two brothers, Daniel Young and Edward Young.
Family and friends may gather from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 15, 2017 at the Friends in Christ United Methodist Church where a funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Nancy Russell and Bill Lawson, pastor of the Fillmore Wesleyan Church, will co-officiate. Burial will be in Podonque Cemetery, Rushford.
