Ann J. (Vittori) Gierke

Fillmore---Ann J. Gierke of 15 Lowell Street, died Thursday February 18, 2016 in Jones Memorial Hospital, Wellsville. She was born on January 21, 1928 in Italy a daughter of the late Alfred and Mary Palumbo Vittori. She married William C. Gierke who predeceased her on October 12, 2003.

Ann was a member of St. Patrick’s Church and enjoyed mirror writing, crossword puzzles and painting.

Surviving are her children, Mildred (Kenneth) Thayer of Wiscoy, Maria (Joseph) Welch of Raleigh, N. Carolina, Debra (James) Jeffords of Fillmore, Keith (Jamie) Gierke of Fillmore, ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, a brother in law, Robert Kurtz of Hamburg and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by a grandson, Wayne C. Thayer, three sisters, Jenny, Nancy, Carmella and a brother, Victor.

Family and friends may gather from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home, 21 N. Genesee Street, Fillmore. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 22, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, Fillmore. Fr. Dennis JJ Mancuso will be celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Fillmore.
