Archie Dolson Covert

Hunt --- Archie Dolson Covert of 1282 Main Street went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 in Noyes Memorial Hospital, Dansville. He was born on May 31, 1939 in Andover, a son of the late Howard and Nina Mae Shelley Covert. He married Clara Gail Underwood who predeceased him. Later in December of 2000 in Henrietta, TX he married Shirley Isaman Holly who survives.

Archie was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving from 1957 to 1961. He was a former employee of Lone Star Gas and Atmos Energy in Henrietta, TX until his retirement. During his time in Texas he was a Boy Scout Master, Director of the Royal Ambassadors, a member of the Henrietta Fire Department and a past member of the First Baptist church of Henrietta.

Archie also was a former coach for the Kiwanis Soccer and Baseball teams. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed watching the Buffalo Bills.

Archie and Shirley worked for Wal-Mart in Texas and New York together. He also was a former school bus aide for Keshequa Central School and a member and weekly greeter at Hunt Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife is a daughter, Ellie (Tim) Case of Grove, Oklahoma, two sons, Duaine (Teresa) Covert of Henrietta, TX and Cody (Julie) Covert of Mary Esther, FL, his step-daughters, Lynne (Clair) Lawson and Leigh Grosse both of Dalton, 11 grandchildren, Charessa (Brian) Munson, Cy (Jonna) Covert, Hunter (Jessica) Covert, Thomas (Lauren) Covert, Mike (Silvia Cabrera) Kusmeriski, Lindsay (Andy Sanford) Therrien, Andrew Lawson, Brandon (Ashley) Lawson, Ryan (Chelsea) Grosse, Kyle (Whitney) Grosse, Hunter (Natalie McHugh) Grosse, 7 great-grandchildren, Ayla, Ashlyn, Olivia, Wesley, Nolan, Rowan and Holly and expectant great-granddaughter, Lodie and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his first wife he was predeceased by a grandson, Brendon Holtzen.

Family and friends may gather from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at the Hunt Baptist Church where a funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm. Pastor Jerry Feulmer will officiate.
