Fillmore ---Bruce Charles Miller of 24 Emerald Street died Tuesday, July 15, 2025 in the Livingston County Skilled Nursing Facility, Mt. Morris. He was born on August 28, 1950 in Fillmore, a son of the late Charles “Bud” and Ruth Steadman Miller. He married Marsha Van Buren who survives.
Bruce lived most of his life in Fillmore and was a true FCS legend who left behind a legacy. He was an extraordinary athlete that went on to play Division 1 basketball at St. Bonaventure University and Louisiana Tech.
During his years of employment, he was an Industrial Engineer at Markin Tubing in Wyoming, NY and later lived and worked in Reading, PA.
He was an avid outdoorsman who loved walking in the woods, scouting for deer, trap shooting, playing golf, and telling old hunting stories. Whether visiting with a phone call or stopping by for a cup of coffee with his sons, he would reminisce of the days gone by in his quiet and humble ways.
One of his greatest gifts was the love he had for his wife Marsha. They enjoyed long drives, trips to Elk Country, and spending time with their family and friends.
What a blessing it is to be loved by an amazing man, who was an incredible father, husband, grandpa, and best friend. He led with quiet strength and a tender heart. Grandpa Bruce took great pride and joy in watching his grandchildren whether they were playing soccer, basketball, softball, baseball, hockey, or horseback riding, he made every attempt to be there.
In his last moments, he made sure to tell his grandchildren that he loved them and wished he could have done more. This will forever be a lesson of selflessness. He was always more than enough.
He was a kind soul, never had an enemy, and everyone he met was a friend. His legacy lives on in his son, Byron (Laurie) Miller, Brian (Desiree’) Miller, his grandsons; Brett, Max, Dominic, and Christian, his granddaughters; Macy, Carlee, Preslee, Mylee, and Tenlee, his beloved wife Marsha, stepchildren Holly (Doug) Milhollen, Mark (Catrina) Kingsley, Matt Baker, step-grandchildren, Dustin, Ashley, Camden, Harper Millhollen, Amber, Chris, Peyton, Carson True, Richard Hess Jr., Zoe, his sister, Bonnie (Harold) Alderman and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may gather from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home, 21 N Genesee Street, Fillmore. A private graveside will be held in Pine Grove Cemetery, Fillmore. Jamie Mullen will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Fillmore Rescue squad can be made in his honor, as they were so helpful in his time of need.
