Pike --- Bruce Van Slyke of 80 N. Water Street passed away on January 5, 2022 in Rumford Hospital, Rumford, Maine. He was born on November 3, 1935 in Pike, a son of the late Wesley and Ruth Morris Van Slyke. On August 25, 1962 in St. Michael’s Church in Warsaw he married Carolyn Wozniak who survives.
Bruce was a veteran of the United States Army serving from 1958 to 1960. He loved to roller skate and was the former owner and operator of the High Roller Skating Rink in Pike.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three daughters, Amy (John) Goodell of Rexford, Beth (Lee) Davis of Peru, ME, Katie Van Slyke of Pike, three grandchildren, Lee Hough, Mary Goodell, Julia Goodell, two sisters, Judith Rutherford of Silver Springs, Phyllis Hunt of Port St. Lucie, FL and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by two brothers, Paul Jord Van Slyke and Wesley Allen Van Slyke.
Family and friends may gather from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday, January 14, 2022 at the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home, 21 N Genesee Street, Fillmore where a funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm. Rev. Bruce Smith, pastor of the Higgins Wesleyan Church, will officiate. Burial will be in East Koy Cemetery, East Koy.
