Carl Ward Granger

November 7, 1933 — January 14, 2015

Higgins --- Carl Ward Granger of 8136 Higgins Creek Road passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 of natural causes associated with a long term illness in his home. He was born on November 7, 1933 in the town of Genesee Falls, a son of the late William and Eunice Dake Granger. He married Priscilla Smith who predeceased him in 2006.

Carl took pride as a retired dairy and custom crop farmer, farm mechanic, and restorer of antique tractors.

In 1989, Carl was proudly one of the original founders of the Genesee Valley Antique Tractor Pulling Club (GVATC), an active member with his Farmall Super MTA and president for 25 years.

Carl will be greatly remembered for his perseverance in life, commitment and dedication to his trade, family and hard work. He enjoyed life. His greatest pleasures were his children, family and friends.

Carl was very social, and enjoyed dedicated time with his friends; Tuesday night Euchre, shop talk and hosting his annual garage Christmas Party.

Surviving are, seven children: Douglas Granger of Spencerport, Deborah Kruppner of Franklinville, Darlene Masetta of Newton Falls, OH, Michele Granger of Redondo Beach, CA, Michael Granger of Higgins, David Granger of Delevan, Tamara Granger of Higgins, 13 Grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and a brother, Roger Granger of Salamanca.

Family and friends may gather from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 18, 2015 and from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Monday, January 19, 2015 at the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home, 21 N. Genesee Street, Fillmore, where a funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2015. Bruce Smith, pastor of the Higgins Wesleyan Church, will officiate and will be assisted by Darlene Masetta, pastor, Lowellville United Methodist Church, Ohio. Burial will be in Alger Cemetery, Fillmore.

All are welcome to join Carl’s family for a memorial luncheon to be held at Fillmore Fire Hall immediately thereafter.
