Fillmore --- Carole L. McGlynn, of Fillmore passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2026 in Jones Memorial Hospital, Wellsville. She departed this life surrounded by her loving children. Carole was born on February 22, 1934, to Aletha and Roland Lowrey. She graduated from Kenmore West High School and on June 6, 1953 she married Gerald “Gerry” McGlynn who predeceased her on May 16, 2025.
Carole, always impeccably coiffed and lip-sticked, is remembered for being a generous and hospitable woman. While her love for family and the Lord were her first priorities, she was deeply committed to her work with the Wide Awake Club Library. Carole delivered Meals on Wheels, and held various positions in the area; at CJ Winchip’s, the Rushford and Fillmore Schools, and as Office Manager at the Houghton Nursing Home.
She pursued many hobbies with passion: puzzles, pampering her orchids, bowling, golfing, and traveling. She was an avid reader and quite the card player, thoroughly enjoying her various weekly card clubs and bible study group. She loved her seasons living at Rushford Lake, Florida, and in Fillmore.
She is survived by three children, Michael (Dodi) McGlynn, Colleen (Tim) Marcum, and Lisa (Darel) Bower, 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren (lovingly named her LOLA!)
In addition to her husband of 72 years and her parents she was predeceased by her beloved sister Sandy and her brother-in law George Dimmock.
Family and friends may gather on Friday, July 24, 2026 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Kopler Williams Funeral Home 21 N. Genesee Street, Fillmore and on Saturday July 25, 2026 at 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Northern KonXions United Methodist Church in Fillmore. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am. Reverend Michael McGlynn, Carole’s son, will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Fillmore.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations, if desired, can be made to the Wide Awake Club Library (PO Box 199) 22 North Genesee St., Fillmore, NY 14735.
