That decision became the greatest blessing of her life and gave her the hope and assurance of eternal life.

Caroline Elsie (nee Coons) Perry, affectionately known as “Carrie” and “Stink’in” by her older brother, passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Savior on July 2, 2026, at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was 84 years old. Caroline was born on July 28, 1941, in Naples, New York, the ninth of her siblings. She married Richard Perry who predeceased her.

Throughout her life, Caroline worked hard and took pride in everything she did. She was employed at Crossman Air Guns and Robeson Cutlery, and later worked in housekeeping and laundry at Houghton Nursing Home. She also served as a housekeeper at McCarty’s Motel in Fillmore, where her dedication and strong work ethic were evident to all who knew her.

Caroline found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved airbrushing ceramics, crocheting, and spending time coloring on her iPad. She also had a special place in her heart for her beloved cat, Yogi, whose companionship brought her much happiness.

Later in life, Caroline came to know her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. That decision became the greatest blessing of her life and gave her the hope and assurance of eternal life. While her family grieves her absence, they rejoice in knowing she is now at peace in the presence of the One she placed her faith in.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Barbara Ann Deck (Jerry) and Brenda Lynn Deck Voss (Todd); her foster brother, Robert J. Gillis of Richmond, Virginia; along with many cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who will carry her memory forward.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 40 years, Richard Perry; her brothers Warren, Charlie, Wilbur, and Lyle; and her sisters Jan, Bessie, Nora, and Kathleen.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at 2:00 pm in Short Tract Cemetery, Short Tract.

“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” 1 Corinthians 10:31 (NIV)
