Charles H. Barnes

Dalton --- Charles H. Barnes of 10180 Old State Road died Monday, April 1, 2024 in Noyes Memorial Hospital, Dansville. He was born on October 18, 1922 in Poole, England, a son of the late Frank and Frances Brown Barnes. He married Jean Brown who predeceased him on January 12, 2013.

Charlie was a dairy farmer during his time in England and later immigrated to the United States in 1954. Afterward he became employed by the New York State Thruway until his retirement in 1982.

He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening. Charlie also enjoyed collecting stamps and coins.

Surviving are his sons, Kenneth (Cindy Parnell) Barnes of Fairport, Bradley Barnes of Dalton, two grandsons, Jared (Angela) Barnes of Piffard, Clayton Barnes of Arizona and two great-grandchildren, Eli and Seana.

Family and friends may gather from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home, 21 N Genesee Street, Fillmore. Burial will be in Short Tract Cemetery, Short Tract.
