Clarice B. (Balcom) Furniss

Caneadea --- Clarice B. Furniss of 7723 Route 243 died Friday, September 25, 2015 in her home. She was born on March 17, 1923 in Corning, a daughter of the late Homer and Mildred Allen Balcom. On October 9, 1971 she married Philo Furniss who survives.

Clarice was a member of the Belfast United Methodist Church and the Rushford Cynthian Club. She was a graduate of Rushford Central School, class of 1942, where she worked as a Teacher’s Aid for many years. She had many hobbies which included painting, jewelry and ceramics.

Surviving in addition to her husband is a sister, Ola Lou (Charles) Gordon of Rushford and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by a brother, Charles Balcom.

Family and friends may gather from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home, 21 N. Genesee Street, Fillmore and from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at the Belfast United Methodist Church where a funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Nancy Russell will officiate. Burial will be in Caneadea Cemetery.
