Freedom --- Clifford Lloyd Davies of Freedom went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 in Bertrand Chaffee Hospital, Springville. He was born on June 11, 1939 in Sugartown, a son of the late Lloyd and Ellen Myrick Davies. On June 24, 1961 in the Sandusky Baptist Church he married Marcia Button who survives.
Clifford was a former truck driver for area businesses and was self-employed for many years. He was a former board member for the Town of Freedom and a former deacon and current member of Hope Lutheran Church in Arcade.
He enjoyed watching dirt track racing and the New York Yankees but most of all he loved his wife, children and especially his grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his beloved wife are their children, Donald (Robin) Davies of Freedom, JoAnn (Steve) Pawela of Gaithersburg, MD, five grandchildren, Brittany (Zack) Holland, Jordan (Devon) Leach, Tyler Davies, Michael Pawela, Jacob Pawela, three great-grandchildren, Jaxson Holland, Harry Leach, Riley Leach, a sister, Marjorie Clouston of Medina, OH and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by two sisters, Mary Ellen and Nancy Morgan.
A memorial service will be held at a later time. Burial will be in Freedom Cemetery, Freedom.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation for the care and compassion shown by all at The Pines in Machias and at Bertrand Chaffee Hospital.
