Rushford --- Delores B. Thurber, a former resident of Rushford, died Friday, June 22, 2018 in Agape Manor in Strykersville. She was born on March 14, 1929 in Rushford, a daughter of the late Charles and Marcia Lafferty Swain. On July 20, 1950 in Rushford she married Howard Thurber who predeceased her on September 11, 1993.

Delores was a graduate of Rushford Central School, a former member of the Cowlesville Lady’s Auxiliary, the Home Bureau and was a former waitress for several local area restaurants.

She loved to host parties and most of all spending time with her family.

Surviving are her children, Riley (Carol) Thurber of Summerfield, FL, Michele (James) Stout of Wyoming, Toni (Mark) Bohn of Batavia, six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Sue Shiltz, a son-in-law, Rick Shiltz, five brothers and four sisters.

Family and friends may gather from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home, 21 N. Genesee Street, Fillmore, where a funeral service will be held on Friday, July 13, 2018 at 11:00 am. Bill Mountain will officiate. Burial will be in Hardy’s Corners Cemetery, Rushford.
