Donald F. Alderman

Oliver Springs, TN --- Donald F. Alderman of Oliver Springs, TN and a former resident of Rushford, N.Y., died on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at the Park West Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. He was born on June 5, 1926 in Rushford, a son of the late Arthur and Grace Miller Alderman.

Mr. Alderman was a retired machinist, and worked for several years at Motorola in Arcade.  Donald had a great passion for writing. He was a published author of both a novel and a book of poems.

Donald served his country in the army during World War II and was stationed in Europe. While serving he received several medals, citations and ribbons.

Surviving is his wife, Marvelyn Forby, a daughter, Donna McKeown of Lake Forest, CA, a grandson Michael McKeown of Boston, MA, two granddaughters Megan and Matison Alderman of Miami, FL, a sister, Leora Anderson of Houghton, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Diane, two sons, Brian and Mark Alderman; and three brothers Harvey, Ralph and Robert Alderman.

Burial will be in White Cemetery, Rushford at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home, 21 North Genesee Street, Fillmore.
