Donald R. Arnold

Fillmore---Donald R. Arnold, a former resident of Fillmore, died Sunday, Jan. 3, 2016 in Simpsonville, SC. He was born in Caneadea on May 26, 1928, a son of the late Ray and Veva Parker Arnold. He married Barbara Ann Holliday who predeceased him on April 8, 2014.

Don was an Army Veteran having served from 1950 thru 1952. He was a member of the Fillmore United Methodist Church now Friends in Christ United Methodist Church and attended the Crossroads Baptist Church in Greer, S.C. He was a right of way field engineer for Rochester Gas and Electric. He was also a member of the Brooks Hose Fire Department, the former Oriona Grove Lodge F&AM of Fillmore, and a 65 year member of the American Legion Post No. 1155 of Fillmore and he also was a former Mayor of the village of Fillmore for several years.

Don had his own landscaping business and worked for Ron Wilson’s chicken farm.

Surviving is a son, Alan R. Arnold and his wife Robin of Simpsonville, S.C., a grandson, Matthew Fox, a brother Art (Mabel) Arnold of Fillmore, a niece, Rhonda (John) Morse of Rushford, a nephew, Brian (Marge) Arnold of Fillmore, and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a daughter, Jayne M. Fox

Family and friends may gather from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7: 00 to 9:00 pm on Friday, January 8, 2016 at the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home 21 N. Genesee Street, Fillmore, where funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 11:00 am. Pastor Nancy Russell will officiate and burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Fillmore.
