Ellen S. Cooley

Freedom---Ellen S. Colley of 10904 Stickle Road, died Wednesday, April 26, 2017 in the Absolut Care at Houghton. She was born of January 1, 1916 in Centerville, a daughter of the late Howard and Nellie Ackerman Stickle. She married Clifford Delos Cooley who predeceased her on May 30, 2005.

She was a member of the Higgins Wesleyan Church.

Ellen was a graduate of Houghton College and was a former teacher.

Surviving are three sons, David Cooley of Freedom, Dale (Katie) Cooley of Gainesville, Raymond Cooley of Stuarts Draft, Va., six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by a daughter, Joanna Bikle in 2013, two brothers, William and Norman Stickle and a sister, Margaret Wilday.

A memorial gathering will be held on July 29, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Higgins Weslyan Church Pavilion. Burial will be in East Koy Cemetery, Pike.
