Angelica --- Ethel Louise Wagner of 8981 Old State Road died Monday, July 18, 2022 in The Pines Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Olean. She was born on October 10, 1927 in Angelica, a daughter of the late Clifford and Eula Worden Prentice. On December 22, 1950 in the Fillmore Methodist Church she married Herbert Leon Wagner who predeceased her on December 17, 2018.
Ethel was a graduate of Angelica Central School, formally known as the Wilsonian High School, class of 1944, afterward she completed her Stenographic Course in 1945 and later in 1970 she completed her Nurses’ Aid Course.
She was a member of the Wellsville Congregation of Jehovah Witnesses and a 4-H Leader in Angelica. Ethel enjoyed baking pies for her husband, teaching her children how to cook and bake, bird watching, vegetable and flower gardening, playing scrabble, puzzles and watching Jeopardy on TV.
Surviving are her children, Myrna (Robert) Brodman of Henrietta, Dave (Eileen) Wagner of Bullhead City, AZ, Julie (Richard) Bray of Olean, Dale (Cindy) Wagner of Olean, Zena (Russell) Rittenhouse of Angelica, Daren (Evelyn) Wagner of Alpharetta, GA, 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may gather from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday, July 22, 2022 at the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home, 21 N. Genesee Street, Fillmore. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at 4:00 pm in the Wellsville Kingdom Hall, 115 Chamberlain Street, Wellsville. Jack Cairns will officiate. Burial will be in Short Tract Cemetery, Short Tract.
