Eugene R. Christie

Dalton --- Eugene R. Christie, a former resident of Dalton, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 23, 2021 in Olean General Hospital. He was born on October 25, 1941 in Dansville, a son of the late Lovearn and Hazel Parks Christie.

Eugene was a member of the Hunt Baptist Church and loved mowing lawns. He also was a past helper at the former Arrowmart in Dalton.

Surviving are two sister, Lorraine Cobin of Nunda, Kay Leighty of Virginia, a brother Harley Christie and several nieces and nephews including a special niece and nephew, Heather and Gordon Cobin of Hunt.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by two sisters, Elaine Cobin, Eleanor Shoemaker, a brother, Deforest “Pugg” Christie and his former caretakers, Walter and Elaine Cobin and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Hunt Baptist Church on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 12 pm. Rev. Jerry Feulmer will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Dalton.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home, 21 N. Genesee Street, Fillmore.
