Frances B. Smith

Fillmore--- Frances B. ″Fran″ Smith passed away peacefully in her home Sunday, August 24, 2014. She was born on July 31, 1929 in Canandaigua, a daughter of the late Lewis and Dorothy Henry Brahm. On September 7, 1946, she married Gordon L. Smith who predeceased her on November 15, 2002. Together they owned and operated Fillmore Feed Service for 35 years.

She was a graduate of Shortsville High School. Fran was a member of the American Dowsers Association, the Rushford Lake Land Owners Association and she served as a commissioner for the Rushford Lake Recreation District. She was a member of the Friends in Christ United Methodist Church of Fillmore for over 60 years and served as treasurer of the United Methodist Women for many years.

Fran enjoyed scrapbooking, gardening and family gatherings. She will be remembered as an unselfish volunteer organizing church events and serving the community.  Her passion was capturing beautiful sky scenes, cute playful grandchildren and her garden flowers with her camera.

Surviving are her children, Linda (James) Wolfer of Newark, Delaware, Steven (Marlene) Smith of Perry, Dennis (Ann Kemp) Smith of Rossburg, Lisa (Andrew) Nolan of Wellsville, nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a sister, Shirley Howden.

Family and friends may gather at the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home 21 North Genesee Street, Fillmore, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, August 27, 2014.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Friends in Christ United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Fillmore.
