Frederick Kolakowski

Centerville --- Frederick “Fred” Kolakowski of 9378A Co. Road 3 died Sunday, February 21, 2016 in the Pines, Machias Campus. He was born on November 9, 1922, in Bennington, a son of the late Edmund and Mary Lipska Kolakowski. He married Roberta Forcey who predeceased him on September 18, 2012.

Fred was a member of St. Mark’s Church in Rushford and a member of the Board of Education in Fillmore. He was a dairy farmer, auto mechanic and enjoyed making maple syrup, painting and singing.

Surviving are seven daughters, Sandy Allen of Kenmore, Anne (Duane) Vaclavik of Fillmore, Sue (Ed) Evans of Hamlin, Deb (Dick) Forkey of Rushford, Janet (Michael) Campana of Centerville, Eileen Rhoades of Youngsville, La., Katie Chaddock of Centerville, 20 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, a brother, Richard Kolakowski of Centerville and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents he was predeceased by three sisters, Genevieve Kolakowska, Franny Otto, Lucille Malone, a brother, Roman Kolakowski and two sons-in-law, Brian Rhodes and Peter Allen.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Fillmore.
