Gary C. Gelser

Nunda --- Gary C. Gelser of Nunda passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 in Noyes Memorial Hospital, Dansville. He was born March 29, 1947 in Nunda, son of the late Clair and Dorothy Carmer Gelser. Gary married his soulmate Darlene Levey September 8, 1967 at United Church of Christ in Mt. Morris.

Gary was a veteran of the United States Army serving during Vietnam from 1968 to 1969 with Company D, First Battalion, 26 ^th Infantry, 1 ^st Division.  He was a former employee for Eastman Kodak, Digital Equipment and Global Crossing until his retirement. After his retirement he went to work for the Livingston County Highway Department.

Gary was very active in his community and was involved with numerous organizations including the Nunda Fire Department, Nunda Ambulance Corp., the Keshequa School Board and VFW Post #8961 in Nunda.

Surviving in addition to his wife are their children, Stephen (Luanne) Gelser of Nunda, Tricia Gelser of Roanoke, VA, Tanya (Clint) Duewall of Odessa, TX, five grandchildren, Katelyn and Kathryn Gelser, Griffin, Baron and Phoenix Duewall. He is also survived by many loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a sister, Carol Bennett.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, April 10, 2022 at 1:00 pm in Anastassia Events, 6640 Pike St, Portageville, NY 14536. Rick Hepler will officiate. A Fireman’s Service will follow at 1:30 pm officiated by the Nunda Fire Department and a Military Service will also follow at 1:50 pm and will be accorded by the VFW Post # 8961. Burial will be in Oakland Hill Cemetery, Oakland.
