Gordon Brooks Macewan

Fillmore --- Gordon Brooks MacEwan, 79, formerly of Fillmore, passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2024 in Gainesville FL. He was born on November 12, 1944 in Nunda, the son of the late Paul and Catherine Babcock MacEwan.

Gordy was a graduate of Fillmore Central School, class of 1962, and a veteran of the US Army. On November 26, 1970 in Friendship he married Sondra K. Snyder of Bryan, Oh.

Gordy was employed for many years at the former Dresser-Rand in Wellsville and later enjoyed running a campground on Black Lake in upstate New York, and doing various carpentry jobs around his home in Wellsville. He retired to northern Florida where he’d spent the last 20 years continuing his love of the outdoors while camping, boating, fishing, and traveling with his loyal Labrador companions.

He is survived by a daughter April MacEwan of Fillmore, and a granddaughter Dana Hatch of Rushford.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by an infant daughter, Kendra Kay.
