Hugh A. Thompson

Nunda --- Hugh A. Thompson of 20 South State Street died Saturday, March 20, 2021 with his wife Barbara by his side in Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester. He was born on September 25, 1943 in Nunda, a son of the late Stewart and Dora Rumfelt Thompson. In 1964 at the Nunda Methodist Church he married Barbara A. Beardsley who survives.

Hugh was a member of the Nunda Fire Department and a former board member of the Oakland Hill Cemetery. He loved pulling ponies and meeting up with is fellow pony pullers but most of all spending time with his friends and family.

Surviving in addition to his wife are their children, Shannon Thompson and Yvonne (Troy) Bennett both of Nunda, four grandchildren, Bryce Bennett, McKenzy Bennett, Nathan Thompson and Nicholas Thompson, a brother, Clair (Pam) Thompson of Cuylerville and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a brother, Robert A. Thompson.

Family and friends may gather from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home, 21 N. Genesee Street, Fillmore where a funeral service will be held on Friday, March 26, 2021 at 11:00 am. Pastor Rick Hepler will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland Hill Cemetery, Oakland.
