Rushford --- James G. Elliott passed away on September 19, 2026, in Highland Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Wellsville. Born on September 26, 1947, a son of the late David and Jean Smith Elliott. James lived a life marked by steady work, service to his country, and the quiet joys of time shared with those he loved.

James served in the United State Army, where he was a cook. His military service reflected a willingness to serve and to contribute in practical, meaningful ways. After his time in the Army, he worked for Kodak in Rochester in the copier maintenance department, building a career through dependable effort and dedication.

Outside of work, James found happiness in simple and lasting pleasures. He enjoyed fishing and golfing, especially with his son Christopher before Christopher’s passing. Those moments spent together on the water and on the course were surely among the memories held closest by those who knew and loved them both.

He is survived by his daughter, Alicia Zuver of Rushford; his granddaughter, Alicyn (Garrett) Morey of Coudersport, PA, a son, Trevor Zuber of Pittsburgh, PA and his great-granddaughter, Charlie Morey. He is also survived by his sister, Jeanne LaMont of Rochester, and by his nieces, Anita (Jerry) Silver and Dawn Smythe and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his son, Christopher Elliott.
