Janet I. Jessop

Rushford --- Janet I. ″Jan″ Jessop of 8189 Parkside Drive and a former resident of Bergen died Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester.  She was born on December 17, 1940 in Watertown, a daughter of the late Ranceford and Alice Dano Ward. She married John A. Jessop who survives.

Jan was a member of the Cynthian Club, Rushford Historical Society and attended the Rushford Baptist Church.  She loved reading, cooking, gardening and most of all children and her grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to her husband are her sons, Timothy (Cynthia) Jessop of Churchville, Todd (Lori) Jessop of Churchville, Sean (Shannon) Jessop of Brockport, Scott (Rebecca) Jessop of Fayette, nine grandchildren, a sister, Patricia Scorsone of Mt. Morris and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may gather from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 15, 2014 at the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home, 21 North Genesee Street, Fillmore. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Rushford Baptist Church, Pastor Jonathan Finley will officiate. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Dundee.
