Jeffrey Paul Lalonde

Short Tract --- We are saddened to announce the death of Jeffrey Paul LaLonde who has gone to be with our Heavenly Father on Saturday, January 28, 2023. He was born a leap year baby on February 29, 1956 in Cuba, a son of the late Jimmie and Lorena Mitchell LaLonde. Survived by Patricia (Hennard), his wife of 48 years, they married on August 31, 1974 in Hunt.

Beloved, Dad, of the late Joshua LaLonde, Andrea (Nate) Tanner of Fillmore, Lynsey LaLonde of Fillmore, Audrey (Anthony Ferro) LaLonde of Webster. Cherished grandfather to Cameron, Hannah, Caleb, Nathan, Abigail, and Francesca. He is also survived by siblings, Joel LaLonde of Irving, TX, Jeanne LaLonde of Spencerport, Jenise LaLonde of Batavia, and the late Jimmie LaLonde Jr, the late Lawrence LaLonde, his mother-in-law, Elva Hennard of Warsaw, and many nieces and nephews.

With a deep and abiding love for God, Jeff cultivated a life that spoke of unrelenting kindness lead by his faith. Jeff loved freely and helped generously everyone be it friend, family or stranger. His charismatic smile spoke of a quiet humble pride in his family, his work and his faith. Jeff left his mark on this world through the buildings that he built and the lives that he touched. He built hospitals, schools, VA centers and many other buildings. He started his career as a laborer and retired a project manager and foreman. At home he enjoyed hosting family gatherings, home-renovations, fixing things, and ice-cream. He also enjoyed fishing, apple picking, and tinkering with vehicles. Most of all he enjoyed being with his family. His grandchildren were his never-ending source of joy and pride. Jeff could fall asleep anywhere and often did. After a picnic lunch at Letchworth, you could find him under a tree with a blanket, or on the couch after Thanksgiving dinner. He leaves behind a trove of memories, a legacy of love, a life rich in laughter, and we were blessed to have him.

Family and friends may gather from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 in the Hume Baptist Church for a viewing, where a funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm. Pastor Joel Stroud will officiate. Burial will be in Short Tract Cemetery, Short Tract.
