Belmont --- Jessie "Ginger" Mae Mitchell VanName of 31 Norton Street went to meet her Lord on Friday, July 13, 2018 in Highland Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Wellsville. She was born on July 17, 1930 in Hornell, a daughter of the late Charles and Erma Thomas Perham. She married Richard Mitchell who predeceased her in 1958 and later married Harold “John” VanName who predeceased her in 1993.
She was a former employee of Craig Finger Lakes DDSO retiring in 1994 and was an advocate for John Kitchen in the Perry Home.
Jessie brought much love and laughter to all she met. She spent her retirement taking care of others who needed help and volunteered at the Hart Comfort Home in Wellsville, comforting all who needed it. She enjoyed rummage and garage sales and was an avid collector. Jessie loved butterflies and Elvis Presley; keeping a vast collection of both. Many hearts are saddened due to her passing.
Surviving are her children, Harold Mitchell of Hunt, Michael (Jamie) Mitchell of Swain, Jesse (Dawn) VanName of Dalton, Sue (Rod) VanName of Cleveland, two brothers, Donald Perham of Rochester, Charles (Veronica) Perham of Standards, six grandsons, three granddaughters, a great-grandson, a step-daughter, Linda (Fred) Hendryx Otto, several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends and neighbors, she loved them all.
In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by two brothers, Albert Perham, James Perham, three sisters, Betty Norton, Mary Pluff, Frances Lewis and a step-son, Larry Hendryx.
As per Jessie’s wish there will be no visitation or services.
