Joel Alan Beardsley

Hume --- Joel Alan Beardsley, a former resident of Hume, died on November 19, 2024, in Olean General Hospital. He was born on February 18, 1947, in Fillmore, a son of the late Walter and Lois Mills Beardsley.

Joel attended Fillmore Central School and was later employed by William Beardsley and Sons Grains and Beans in Mt. Morris for 46 years where he was known far and wide as “Joel Bean”. He was very proud of the fact that he still owned and had farmed land that was part of the purchase made by his ancestor, Roger Mills, in 1806.

Surviving are his siblings, Willis (Beth) Beardsley of Houghton, Lynn Beardsley of Levelland, TX, his twin sister, Joyce (Stan) Krupnik of Wellsville, Roger (Deborah) Beardsley of Fillmore, many nieces and nephews that affectionately knew him as Uncle Joel and a special friend, Penny.

A private family funeral will be held at the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home, 21 N Genesee Street, Fillmore. Pastor Sam Wolcott will officiate. Burial will be in Alger Cemetery, Fillmore.
