Hume --- Leon John Nendza, affectionately known as "Gaucho," passed away on May 14, 2026 in his home. Born on July 9, 1955, in Woodlawn, a son of the late Leo “Abe’ and Patricia Girdlestone Nendza.

Leon retired from Mullican Flooring. Beyond his professional endeavors, he was a man who found joy in simple pleasures: an avid fan of country western movies and someone who cherished the camaraderie and laughter found in get-togethers with friends. His vibrant personality and friendly nature ensured that he left a lasting impression on everyone that knew him.

Leon survived by his seven grandchildren: Connor, Cameron, Tristen, Mason, Laramee, Malaree, and Amaralee. He is also survived by his sisters, Kathy (David) Antonio of Woodlawn, Debbie Radtke of Lackawanna, as well as his brother, John Nendza of Blasdell, his son, Jeffery Nendza and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jessica Ann Nendza Schiltz, his parents, a brother, Robert “Bones” Nendza and a brother-in-law, John Radtke.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
