Fillmore --- Leora S. Ferguson, a former resident of Fillmore, died Sunday, July 21, 2024, in the Wellsville Manor Care Center. She was born on May 31, 1934, in Buffalo, a daughter of the late Vern and Wilhelmine Beyer Dorvit.
Leora was a former clerk for the Market Basket in Fillmore and enjoyed bowling in Houghton and Letchworth. After she was admitted to the Wellsville Manor, she enjoyed playing games with all the other residents and visiting with the nursing staff.
She was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary for the Brooks Hose Fire Department and the Short Tract Fire Department.
Surviving are three sons, Michael Ferguson of Friendship, Vern Ferguson of Fillmore, Gregory Ferguson of Salisbury, NC, two grandchildren, a first cousin, Richard (Judy) Radel of Williamsville and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by a daughter, Constance Scherrer.
Family and friends may gather from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home, 21 N Genesee Street, Fillmore where a funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm. Bob Schooley, pastor of the Centerville United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Basswood Hill Cemetery, Town of Allen.
