Lois "Lanny" Anne (Smith) Thomas

Fillmore --- Lois Anne “Lanny” Thomas of 72 Emerald Street went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, January 27, 2023 in the Suzanne’s Comfort House, Perry. She was born on June 11, 1937 in Fillmore, a daughter of the late Willard and Mae Young Smith. On September 19, 1957 she married Beverly Thomas who predeceased her February 12, 2007.

Lanny enjoyed going to Florida during the winter months, gardening, watching hummingbirds, doing puzzles, quilting, crafts, crocheting and spending time with friends and family. She was a member of the Fillmore Auxiliary and a former hairdresser.

After a diagnosis of cancer she spent her final days at the lovely Suzanne’s Comfort Care House in Perry where she was able to relax, be comfortable, enjoy talking with family and friends, listening to music and crocheting while being at peace knowing she had lived her life to the fullest.

Surviving are her daughters, Roxanne (Blaine) Bentley of Fillmore, Leslie (Edward) Leake of York, five grandchildren, George (Hillary Scharles) Bentley of Fillmore, Caroline Leake of York, Rachel (Joseph) Martinez of Chicago, IL, Dillion Bentley of Fillmore, Emily Leake of York, four great-grandchildren, Emmitt Scharles, Raymond Bentley, Cecilia Bentley and Everleigh Bentley, five sisters, Evelyn (David) Day, Nancy (Harold) Troyer, Aileen (Dan) Brothers, Eileen Siglin, Jeannie (Jim) Calder, two sisters-in-law, Joanne Matthews, Melva Rice, a brother-in-law, Doug Thomas and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her loving husband of 49 years and her parents she was predeceased by a son, Jeffrey Thomas, a brother-in-law, Lynford Siglin and a special friend, Barbara Kenyon.

Family and friends may gather from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home, 21 N Genesee Street, Fillmore where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at 11:00 am. Joel Stroud, pastor of the Hume Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Alger Cemetery, Fillmore.
