Springville --- Marilyn Marie Johnson, a former resident of Springville, passed away on September 27, 2026 in the Houghton Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility. She was born on August 22, 1953, a daughter of the late George and Harriet Whitmyre Castle. She married Ricky Johnson Sr., who predeceased her.

A graduate of Eden Central School, Marilyn built a life centered on caring for others. She was self-employed as a home healthcare aide, a role that reflected her generous spirit and the compassion she offered so freely. She will be remembered as someone who found joy in simple pleasures and in the people she loved most.

Marilyn loved bingo and enjoyed playing card games, especially euchre. She was also a devoted fan of the Miami Dolphins. Above all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren, and those moments brought her deep happiness and meaning.

She is survived by her four children and is lovingly remembered by Jessica Mercado of Gowanda and Ricky (Lisa) Johnson Jr. of Hamburg, nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, a sister, two brothers and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on October 7, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter & Paul Church, 66 E Main St, Hamburg, NY 14075. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, East Eden.
