Belfast --- Marion Lynn McCumiskey, née Haun, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2026, in Sayre, PA. She was born on January 6, 1954, in Springville, Marion was a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, and a grandmother whose warmth and spirit touched her family in countless ways.

Marion’s journey began in the rolling hills of western New York, the beloved child of Clayton and Katherine Young Haun. She grew up surrounded by a large and loving family, forming lifelong bonds with her siblings.

Marion built a beautiful life with her husband, James McCumiskey, who she married on June 21, 1975 in St. Patrick’s Church in Belfast, and together they created a home filled with laughter, the aromas of home-cooked meals, and an abiding sense of togetherness.

Perhaps Marion glowed brightest in her role as grandmother. She adored Hannah, her granddaughter, finding boundless joy in their moments together. Every visit, every smile, and every embrace was treasured beyond words.

Family meant everything to Marion, and her devotion was evident in both everyday gestures and grand celebrations. She enjoyed gathering loved ones around the table, sharing meals she had lovingly cooked and baked from scratch—a legacy of comfort and care that lives on in the hearts of those who savored them. Beyond her kitchen, Marion delighted in seeking out treasures at antiques shops and yard sales, always on the lookout for something special to share or display in her warm home.

Nature held a special place in her heart. She would spend tranquil hours watching and feeding the birds, their visits a quiet, constant source of joy.

Marion’s presence was marked by a gentle enthusiasm for life’s small joys. Whether she was preparing a favorite family recipe, sharing a laugh with her sisters, or spending an afternoon driving at a slow pace to explore local yard sales, her contentment was rooted in the connections she fostered and maintained.

Surviving in addition to her husband is their son, Jimmy (Heba) McCumiskey of Richmond, VA her beloved granddaughter, Hannah; her siblings, Sue (Bob) Schaffer of Anchorage, Alaska, Sharon Bookmiller of Arcade, Judy Braskey of Machias, Nancy Heitman of Arcade, and John (Karen) Haun of Georgia and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her siblings Doug, Dick, and Bill Haun, Shirley Zilker, and Katherine Webber.

Family and friends may gather on Friday, August 21, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Kopler-Williams Funeral Home, 21 N Genesee St., Fillmore, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will follow on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, 3 Merton Ave, Belfast, NY, with burial to take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, Belfast. Fr. John Cullen will be celebrant.
