Marion B. (Rees) Mccarty

Cuba---Marion B. McCarty of 9643 Hardys Corner Road, town of Rushford, died Saturday, December 16, 2017 in Olean General Hospital. She was born on September 10, 1924 in Fillmore, a daughter of the late Lester and Bernice Smith Rees. In 1942 she married Bruce McCarty who predeceased her in 2000.

Marion was a member of the Rushford United Methodist Church.

Marion and Bruce were the former owners and operators of McCarty’s Restaurant in Fillmore.

Surviving are a daughter, Donna (Conrad) Bruckert of Rushford and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a son, Paul J McCarty in 1963 and three sisters, Alice Evans, Carol Hansen and Josephine Hopkins.

A memorial service will be held in the Rushford United Methodist Church on January 4, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Larry Russell will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Houghton.
