Marjorie Hazel (Beardsley) Geens

Nunda --- Marjorie Hazel Geens, a former resident of Nunda, passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2024, in the Houghton Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility. She was born on October 10, 1934, in Nunda, a daughter of the late Warren and Ella Cromwell Beardsley. In 1951 she married Kenneth O. Geens who predeceased her in 1985.

Marjorie lived on the family farm and shared the responsibility of operating it with her husband Kenneth until his passing. Afterward she became a CSEA employee working at the Keshequa Central School until her retirement in 2001.

She was a member of the Oakland Wesleyan Church.

Surviving are her three children, Frankie Oldenburg, Kenneth O. Geens, Catherine Geens, seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren, a brother, Douglas Beardsley of Rochester and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by four brothers, Gordon Beardsley, John Beardsley, Harland Beardsley Jr and Warren Beardsley and a sister, Betty Pike.

Family and friends may gather from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home, 21 N Genesee Street, Fillmore where a funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm. Paul Palmer, pastor of the Oakland Wesleyan Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland Hills Cemetery, Oakland.
