Michael Dean Mitchell

Dalton --- Michael Dean Mitchell passed away on October 31, 2026 in Noyes Memorial Hospital from complications of lung cancer. He was born on July 7, 1954 a son of the late Richard and Jesse “Ginger” Mae Perham Mitchell.

Michael worked as a concrete mason and he enjoyed hunting, especially raccoon hunting with his dog, Duke. He was a good cook and always made amazing holiday meals for the family. His bean and turkey soups were delicious.

He is survived by his children, Jacob Mitchell, Jillian Mitchell, and Joel Mitchell, and their mother, Jamie Patricia Baran. He also leaves behind his grandson, Karter Pauley, and his brothers, Harold Mitchell, Jesse VanName, a sister, Sue VanName and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his daughter, Amzi Ethridge Mitchell.

Per Michael’s request there will be no services.
